It is important to store AED units correctly. They can be found in cars, first aid kits, grab bags or boxes.

There are a lot of different types of AED box or cabinet, some have locks, some are heated or even air cooled.

If you come across an emergency situation which needs an AED and there is an AED available use it. If there is someone available to help you, perform CPR and ask them to call the emergency medical services and locate the nearest AED.

If you can use an AED it doesn’t matter which brand arrives, the basic function is the same, turn it on and it will talk you through what you need to do.

If you have used an AED you need to make sure that the person responsible knows that it has been used, so that they can replace pads and check the battery and the unit so it is ready again, when it is needed.
